We, however, prefer the open windows of the 2nd class cabin. Much better for photo ops! And a reserved seat costs more than 3,010 LKR ($10) cheaper.

Trains depart from Kandy Railway Station at the city centre and arrive at Nanu Oya Railway Station, 10 km west of Nuwara Eliya city centre .

Let’s dive into the tradition of High Tea. Originally a British custom, High Tea involved enjoying tea while seated in high-backed chairs around a table laden with a variety of foods such as cold meats, vegetables, pickled fish, and sweet treats like scones with clotted cream and freshly baked cakes. Today, "tea" often refers to a meal served between 4 and 7 p.m., accompanied by tea. Historically, High Tea was a refined affair reserved for royals and aristocrats, enjoyed leisurely in stylish chairs. The term "high" distinguishes it from afternoon tea, which is typically enjoyed in more casual, lower seating.
